“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing”. (Zephaniah 3:17)
The verse this week is encouraging us to look up to God, the author, and the finisher of our faith; and seek His presence when we are discouraged or overwhelmed. Ultimately looking to Him when we are going through rough seasons of life.
The world we live in can be very chaotic at times, throwing various challenges on our Journey, which we have no control of. It is, therefore, the key to remember that God is working behind the scenes, for your good. You are not alone; He is your comfort and He will always draw you close.
God is reassuring us in this week’s verse that He is in the midst of us, He is mighty and powerful.
No weapon formed against me will prosper, God will rejoice over me with joy.
As believers, we really need to practice declaring Gods words. His promises in our lives are real and need to be declared with faith. If we want to see changes in our lives, we need to believe the declarations and that Gods promises are not in vain.
1. Declarations to speak out to encourage you through this week
God is in the midst of my difficulties and challenges. God is remarkably closer to me than I can ever imagine. Therefore, I will not fear. He promises to never leave me nor forsake me.
God is omnipotent and omnipresent. He is my strong tower. He is faithful to the end; He will never fail, and He will do what He promised to do in my life. He will protect me and pull me out of these circumstances. God will lead me through my dark seasons and will be light to shine around me. He is strong than the strongest. He is bigger than the biggest. God never loses any battle regardless of the opposition.
God is bigger than any fight I am facing. He is my weapon and my defence and He will fight for me. God wants me to hand over my situations and challenges to Him. When I am alone at night God hears my cry and sees my tears.
God does not look at my past. Once I became new in Christ He saw me as a new creation in Christ washed and cleaned. If I make mistakes God is always ready to welcome me back as His child with open arms. I never have to live in condemnation. God is on my side.
The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is amid thee: thou shalt not see evil anymore. In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, fear thou not: and to Zion, let not thine hands be slack. (Zephaniah 3:15)
2. Our dependable God
Always remember that you serve a Living dependable faithful God. God has already shown how much He loves you by sending His only son to die for you and take away all your sins. There is no greater love than what He has done for you and there is no other God in this world like him. Our God is alive and hears our cries and supplications, they are not in vain. He is worthy of our praise and worship. Do not forget He knows all your needs. He wants you to hand all your problems to him, so you can be burden-free. God wants you to trust Him with all your fears and anxieties, knowing and truly believing that He will take care of you. Sing praises unto His name in every season of your life, praise him continually. Pray without ceasing and be a worshiper and a Kingdom Builder and permit the Holy Spirit to enrich you with the fruit of the spirit.
Be encouraged this week that the Lord your God is with you in any circumstance or situation you are dealing with and He is waiting for you to give it all to Him.
What are the barriers in your life which hinder worshipping God?
What are the things that are worrying you this week?
What situations have you not given to God?
I challenge you this week to break through those barriers with worship and prayer; hand over your current situation to God, knowing that the battle is His.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly, all-powerful God I thank you for this week’s verse. Please God help me to remember that you are always with me, you will save me, rejoice over me with joy and I will rest in your love in Jesus name Amen.
