1. Make Time For A Media Lockout
Are you finding the news overwhelming? Is it causing stress, sadness or uncertainly? Step away. Literally! Whether it be from the News or Social Media, just put it on timeout. Put that phone down. Throw that laptop on the bed or couch and turn that TV off! Take a step back and limit the amount of News you take in daily. Make a choice to focus on positivity. By this, we mean focus on activities you want to do or accomplishments you want to achieve. You know during this period you are not missing out on much if you take a break from Media! Except for that new Tik Tok Video, because everyone is locked in.
2. Choose Happiness
What makes your smile? Do just that. You can read that book you never got to finish, learn that language you always wanted to learn. Work out to achieve those perfect abs you've only seen in your dreams or on TV. There are many things you can do to have fun. Check out our blog post 'Quarantine Bucket List' where we have created a list you can use, to inspire you to take on new tasks and achieve new accomplishments during these times. Because you don't know when you'll next get the chance to tick off your list.
3. Reach Out
Stay connected, to friends, loved ones, community groups. Don't take social distancing literally! Do not isolate yourself. We repeat Do not isolate yourself. There are many platforms that allow you to communicate face-face. I.e. Facetime, Zoom, Skype, Facebook, Instagram and the list goes on. There are so many ways for you to not lose contact with people.
Join a group chat or start a discussion in one of our forums.
Keep connected you'll.
4. Rebuke Complaining
Choose gratitude, when you feel like saying some ohh not so nice words. Choose to remain positive. When you feel like complaining, practice praising God. Focus on the positive and all the blessings that you have in your life. There is nothing like some good old praise and worship that will get you out of a funk! You're human you are going to have bad days, but pride yourself on giving it all to God and worshipping. That seems to do the trick. Open your Bible and just look at the characters who faced trials and tribulations - Job! He lost eve-ry-thing. Put your life into perspective and be thankful for what you have.
Let's start off with 1 Thessalonians 5:17 - pray continually. Prayer is the key to change.
This will help you remain positive and your faith will move mountains. If you do not know where to start, think of what is currently troubling you, put it into prayer talk to God as your Father and give Him all your worries and burdens. You will feel a weight lifted.
Philippians 4:6-8 our latest mirror message, just says it all. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
There are many plans on the Bible Gateway app that can help you with prayer. You can also reach out to your small/connection groups and pray with one another.
